Special ingredient: Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes bring a shepherd’s pie recipe to life. Without potatoes you just have beef and vegetables, but the mashed potatoes bring the entire dish together and add the perfect hint of creaminess to the dish. When made with a little bit of butter and milk you get small amounts of calcium, potassium and other essential vitamins and minerals.
