<p>As the name indicates, Lean System 7 contains 7 key &#8220;metabolically active&#8221; ingredients. Ingredients include yerba mate and guarana for &#8220;rapid fat loss&#8221; and converting fatty acids to energy. LS7 uses citrus aurantium and green tea leaf extract to boost energy and increase fat metabolism. Dandelion is also present to work as a natural diuretic. A patented micronutrient called 7-Keto is used to increase the body&#8217;s &#8220;base metabolism&#8221; so you burn more calories faster all day long.</p>

The study also found Lean System 7 &#8220;safe and effective&#8221; for weight loss and fat burning.</p>

<h3>The Verdict: <span style="color: #ff0000;">New Claims, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">No</span> Magic</span></h3>
<p>I like the fact that Lean System 7 creators focus on the importance of diet and exercise to fat loss and weight loss, because fat burning success relies heavily on those 2 things together. I&#8217;m not to keen on supplements in general, but if you have just a few extra pounds weighing you down then this product could possibly help you reach your <a href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/the-best-arm-exercises-to-fit-your-goals" target="_blank">fat burning goals</a>.</p>

Michelob Ultra has just 95 calories per bottle, while Miller Lite has just 96 calories per 12-ounce bottle.</p>
<p>The 2 lowest calorie beers available have less than 70 calories per bottle! We can&#8217;t give them the full thumbs up on taste and quality, but Miller Genuine Draft Lite has just 64 calories per bottle, while Pabst Extra Light Low Alcohol has only 67 calories. Beer guzzling dieters should consider these options as Friday night rewards.</p>
<h3><span style="color: #000000;">Low Calorie Wine</span></h3>

Set up each exercise in a different spot around a circle so that you can have an effective workout right at home.</p>

<p>It doesn&#8217;t look like much on paper, but these circuit training exercises will help you burn fat and build muscle for a healthy new you.</p>

<p>Depending on which brand you buy they can range from $30-$150 so choose wisely my friends. They all have the same basic design but quality and accessories could be a factor in price.</p>
<p>There is one that I found, you can get it on Amazon.com, that comes with straps to make it able to use for hanging leg raises, which are a great <a title="six pack abs exercise" href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/the-best-six-pack-exercise/" target="_blank">six pack abs exercise</a>.</p>
<p>When you take it off the door and lay it on the floor, it can be used to do elevated push ups, tricep dips, and much more. The door frame pull up bar really is a versatile tool for total body fitness.</p>
<p><strong>But I Can&#8217;t Even Do a Pull Up!</strong></p>
<p>If you haven&#8217;t reached the ability to do a pull up, this tool can be helpful for you too. All you have to do is try it with one foot on a chair or with a spotter and gradually you will get better and better.</p>

<p>There is also a thing called an Assisted Pull Up. It is done using a door frame pull up bar, bungees cords or resistance tubing. <p>It is also helpful not to hide the door frame pull up bar. Put it in plain sight on a door that gets used often. That way, each time you pass it, you&#8217;ll think about doing a pull up and your arms will get  stronger week by week.</p>
<p><strong>Ways to Use a Door Frame </strong><strong>Pull Up Bar</strong></p>
<p>In order to really benefit from a pull up, it is important to perform your pull ups properly. You can also tweak the pull up slightly to work different muscles in the arms and back.</p>
<p>First we need to distinguish between a pull up and a chin up. The pull up is definitely the harder of the two with your arms a lot farther apart and your palms facing away from you. The pull up works mainly the back.</p>
<p>The chin up is easier working more with the biceps. It is done with the arms closer together and your palms facing you.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">There are a few pointers to start with:</span></p>
<ol>
<li>Keep your fingers on the bar, not the palm&#8230;less callouses.</li>
<li>Take your breath before you go up.</li>
<li>Bend your legs and cross your feet.</li>
<li>Keep your elbows facing down.</li>
<li>Look up at the bar.</li>
<li>Practice. Practice. Practice.</li>
</ol>
<p>Pull ups are great bodyweight exercises and can really help to strengthen the upper body.</p>

<p>Your biceps are the easiest way to show your strength. You&#8217;ve probably been trying to flex those babies since you were five. Your mom probably even has a picture of you doing so in the family album.</p>
<p>Big biceps have always been the biggest show of strength, since men held big sticks.</p>

<p>Here at TFLA, we like to make things simple and easy to follow, so we have put together a one week plan for any to follow, whether you are beginner or intermediate, man or woman. There are two versions, one will be for the gym, and one at home. You can do one or mix the two. Have it your way, just like the BK.(Burger King- but don&#8217;t eat that stuff during this workout plan!)</p>
<p><strong>The Week of the Best Bicep Workouts</strong></p>
<p><em>For all exercises you should gage how much weight to use by the ability to finish the set. The last rep should use everything you have, and always, ALWAYS remember to warm up with an easy set first.</em></p>
<p>Monday, Wednesday, Friday:</p>
<p>Gym- Standing Bar Bell Curls: 2 or 3 sets of 12-15 reps</p>
<p>Home- Chin Ups: 2 sets of 10-12</p>
<p>Gym: Hammer Curls: 3 sets of 10 each side</p>
<p>Home: Inverted push ups: 2 sets of 20</p>
<p>Gym: Preacher Curls: 3 sets of 10 each side</p>
<p>Home: Milk Jug Preacher Curls: 3 sets fo 10 each side</p>
<p><em>(you can fill the milk jugs with sand for a heavier version)</em></p>
<p>Simple, right?</p>
<p>It is important that you don&#8217;t work your biceps two days in a row in order to give your muscles time to recover. That is when they grow, so if  you are going for size, skip a day in between.</p>
<p>Also, in order to gain muscle, it is important to eat right along with your best bicep workout.  Being in the gym is most important, but  if you restrict your diet too much it could hurt your gains. And eating like a bodybuilder just makes you fat.</p>
<p>Just eat normally, workout hard, rest enough, and start handing out tickets to the gun show.</p>
<p>If you aren&#8217;t looking to build muscle but want to tone up what you already have, the best bicep workout is plenty of bodyweight exercises. Push ups, inverted push ups, chin ups. <p><strong>Whittle While You Work! Da, da, dum, dum, dum ,da , dum!</strong></p>
<p>Here at TFLA we like to help you find ways to make it easier to fit fitness into your life. Here are a few easy ways to do that using a gym ball:</p>

<li>Bounce on the ball while you are watching TV. You will burn calories and tone your abdominals and quads.</li>
<li>Squeeze the ball between your knees while you are at your desk. This will tone your inner thighs.</li>
<li>Sit on the ball and create circles with your butt keeping your chest as still as possible. This will help to create a smaller waist and work the hips.</li>
<li>Place your hands firmly on the ball in plank position. Hold for as long as you can during commercials.</li>
<li>Hold the ball between your hands and squeeze it as hard as you can. Release and repeat.</li>

You can make these elevated or decline push ups. For the elevated push up you simply push up off the actual gym ball. <p><strong>Gym Ball Bridge</strong>:</p>
<p>Lie on your back, knees bent, and heels on the ball. Keep your knees bent but bring your butt up off the floor until your body is aligned from knees to shoulders. You can switch things up by extending one leg up and bridging with the other leg.</p>
<p><strong>Gym Ball JackKnife</strong>:</p>

<p>Lie on the ground with your arms extended over your head and your legs completely extended about shoulder width apart. Hold the ball in your hands. Bring the ball up as your bring your legs up and pass the ball from your hands to between your feet. Bring the ball to the floor with your feet and repeat. Only this time pass it back to your hands. This is a great upper and lower <a title="abdominal exercises" href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/abdominal-exercises-to-lose-belly-fat-in-5-minutes/" target="_blank">abdominal exercise</a>.</p>

<p>Although I don&#8217;t think that smoothies are the best thing besides indoor plumbing, a good strawberry smoothie recipe can be a good addition to any calorie restricted diet.</p>

<p>Now I know that a plain old strawberry smoothie probably doesn&#8217;t get your mouth watering but I&#8217;m about to open up a whole other smoothie world for you that you may not have been aware of.</p>
<p>Smoothies are so versatile. They are portable, drinkable, and quick to prepare. All you need is a good blender and you are set!</p>
<p>Before I tell you about all the tasty things you can add to your strawberry smoothie recipe, I want to tell you first of all, why you should be interested in making a smoothie in the first place.</p>
<p><strong>Why Smoothies Can Help you Achieve Your Weight Loss Goals</strong></p>
<p>Whenever I make a smoothie my eyes are bigger than  my stomach. I take a tall glass and fill it to the brim with sweet smoothieness and everytime I&#8217;m drinking and about half way down the glass I get full.</p>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Well, fruit is a naturally filling food. Depending on which you choose to blend together, you can have soluble and insoluble fiber that will make you feel full quicker and keep you feeling full for quite some time.</p>
<p>Also, once you really get good at smoothing (is that what you call it?) you can experiment with all sorts of good flavors, including nuts, extracts, and vegetables.</p>
<p>Smoothies provide a good amount of water for your hydration levels. Another important point about why smoothies are good for your diet is that they provide you with plenty of <a title="natural vitamins" href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/healthy-food-always-beats-supplements/" target="_blank">natural vitamins and minerals</a>. These three together guarantee you a full tank of energy for the day, which is why I like to have a smoothie for breakfast but it is a good choice for any time of day.</p>
<p>Smoothies, when done right, can be a <a href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/is-a-low-calorie-breakfast-a-good-way-to-lose-weight/">low calorie meal</a> that will help you control cravings and reduce your appetite through the fiber and sugars that you are giving your body.</p>

<p>So let&#8217;s take that plain old boring strawberry smoothie and give it pizzazz.</p>
<p><strong>The Creamy</strong></p>
<p>To make your smoothie creamy you can add low fat yogurt, skim milk, or even an ounce of neufchatel cheese. Be careful with your servings here, you want to keep the calories to a minimum.</p>
<p><strong>Good Choices of Fruit</strong></p>
<p>Strawberries, of course, are a great choice, as well as other berries because they have a high amount of pectin and antioxidants.</p>
<p>Bananas can also make your smoothie less acidic and are a great source of potassium.</p>
<p>Kiwi, mango, guava, and other exotic fruits add a good flavor and keep things interesting.</p>
<p>Grapes, apples, and oranges are good sources of juice and sweeten up your smoothie nicely.</p>
<p><strong>Additional Nutrients</strong></p>
<p>If you can think outside the box and try new mixtures, there is no limit to what you can get out of your smoothie.</p>
<p>For my strawberrie smoothie recipe I like to add ground flaxseed ( for healthy fats), oatmeal, and peppermint.</p>
<p>You can add vitamin dense green spinach, carrots, squash, avocado, ginger, protein powder, and natural almond butter.</p>
<p>For no additional calories, you can add vanilla, cinnamon, green tea, rosewater, and any dessert spice like nutmeg.</p>
<p>You can also use the fruit and vegetable juice mixtures to add veggies if you have a hard time finding out how to blend them.</p>
<p>Smoothies are pretty convenient overall. This strawberry smoothie recipe shouldn&#8217;t replace your diet but it can be a great addition to it.</p>
<p>Use them on days that you don&#8217;t have much time to cook or need to bring something with you. They are definitely a better choice than the rest of the convenience foods available.</p>

<p>I don&#8217;t want to discourage anyone, but a six pack is one of the last things you achieve during your quest for a fit body. The stomach is the most difficult place to lose fat, and usually the last place for both men and women.</p>
<p>But it can be achieved and you will LOVE having a six pack. The sense of accomplishment along with the swiveling heads at the beach are well worth the effort.</p>

<div class="mceTemp">Alright, let&#8217;s get down to business! Here is a quick run down of the top six pack exercises that will help you to get the sought after iron abs of envy.</div>

<div class="mceTemp"><strong>High Intensity Interval Training for Six Pack Exercise</strong></div>
<p><strong> </strong>High Intensity <a title="interval training" href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/spend-less-time-and-lose-more-fat-with-interval-training/" target="_blank">Interval Training</a>, or HIIT, has been proven in numerous studies to burn virtually pure body fat. To put this into effect in your six pack exercise routine, you can choose from a variety of methods.</p>
<p>There is the Tabata Method, which is brutally intense but very effective. It is used by athletes all over the world to shed body fat and increase the aerobic capacity, not to mention <a title="boost your metabolism" href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/how-to-recharge-a-damaged-metabolism/" target="_blank">boost your metabolism </a>through the roof!  This is a 4 minute workout of 20 seconds of cardio as hard as you can go followed by a 10 second rest repeated eight times.</p>
<p>If you can&#8217;t handle the Tabata Method just follow a simple rule of having atleast a third of your exercise in high intensity. So if you jog for 2 minutes you must sprint for one minute and keep that cycle going for the rest of your six pack exercise workout.</p>
<p><strong>Complex Bodyweight Exercises for Six Pack Exercise</strong></p>
<p>Are you currently doing any bodyweight exercises in your strength routine? Can you spruce things up by making them a little more complex? What do I mean complex?</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t worry. I don&#8217;t want you to be thinking too hard during your workout. What I mean by complex is a move that uses more than one muscle group to perform.</p>
<p>A good example of this would be the squat. An even better example would be a squat thrust.</p>
<p>By using more than one muscle group in your strength training you are burning more calories and engaging your core during the entire workout.</p>
<p>Take our example: the squat thrust.</p>
<p>When you squat, you should be engaging your abs when you go down, when you thrust the weights up, and when you come back up. If you&#8217;ve done the six pack exercise workout right, with little rest between sets, you will feel the slight burn in your abdominals.</p>
<p><strong>The 5 Minute Six Pack Exercise</strong></p>
<p>Thousands of sit ups are not needed for your six pack exercise. In fact, it wouldn&#8217;t help you at all. All the exercise you need to spend focusing on your abdominals is five minutes a day, three to four days a week.</p>

<p>Hanging leg raises- 3 sets of 20 reps</p>
<p>Bicycles- 3 sets of 30 reps</p>
<p>Plank Twists- 2 sets of 20 on each side</p>
<p>Jack knife- 3 sets of 20 reps</p>
<p>This six pack exercise works the upper, lower, and transverse abs. It also works the obliques.</p>

On a personal note, this strategy has become by far my most effective weight loss strategy I currently practice.</p>

<blockquote><p><em>That sounds all well and good, BUT don&#8217;t I still need to eat healthy foods to lose weight. It doesn&#8217;t make sense that I can eat pizza and hot dogs everyday, input 2 24-hour fasts, and still expect to lose weight? Am i missing something?</em></p></blockquote>
<p>Here is my response to Al which I&#8217;d like to share with everyone:<span id="more-374"></span></p>
<p><em>&lt;- Start of Email -&gt;</em></p>
<p>Hi Al,</p>
<p>Thanks for writing.  I&#8217;ll do my best to answer your question, if you still have any questions feel free to hit me back with an email anytime.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re not alone for having this question and in my opinion it&#8217;s one of the biggest cognitive gaps for people trying to lose weight. Too often people equate eating healthy with losing weight, when in fact it&#8217;s not that linear of an equation.</p>
<p>Typically people that eat healthy happen to be more conscious of what they eat in general. Healthy eating usually leads to regular exercise and as a result people are more equipped for losing and maintaining their weight.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s not forget to mention that a diet richer in fruits and veggies (fiber) leaves you more <a title="Turn Hunger Off With These Foods" href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/how-to-put-the-appetite-control-switch-in-the-on-position-and-not-feel-hungry/" target="_self">satiated</a> and therefore consuming less calories.</p>
<p><strong>However, you do NOT have to eat healthy foods to lose weight. You really don&#8217;t!</strong></p>
<p>If you want your body to function ideally, to have regular bowel movements, healthy hair and skin, and the benefits go on and on and on&#8230; then YES, ABSOLUTELY please eat healthy foods &#8211; that&#8217;s why I do.</p>
<p>However, if you want to lose weight, then we are talking about something else entirely.</p>
<p><strong>To lose weight, the #1 rule is to put your body in a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">caloric deficit</span> every single day.</strong></p>
<p>This means that the amount of calories that you ingest throughout the course of a day should be LESS that the amount of calories our body burns within the same period of time.</p>
<p>eg. Day 1:</p>
<blockquote><p>* You eat 1800 calories.<br />
* Between life in general and the 400 calories you burned at the gym, your body expended 2400 calories.<br />
* End result: You are in a caloric deficit of 600 hundred calories for that day.</p></blockquote>
<p>So with that being said, you can eat ice cream, donuts, pizza, steak dinners, mash potatoes, cinnamon hearts and chocolate cake&#8230;</p>
<p>BUT!</p>
<p>But, but, but&#8230; you still have to make sure that the calories you consume from all of these foods throughout the course of a day still leave you in a caloric deficit.</p>
<p>And keep in mind, if you have a CHEAT day the additional calories you consume will also have an impact on your overall caloric deficit.</p>
<p>So here is a perfect example:</p>
<p>If you go to a coffee shop, and you are trying to decide between the donut and the muffin and you are trying to lose weight, choose the donut.</p>
<p>Sure, you probably shouldn&#8217;t have either of these, BUT if you have to have one, 9 times out of 10 the donut will have fewer calories than the muffin.</p>

<p>Watching the finale of Biggest Loser last night was inspiring. No need to recap, just find it on TiVO and you&#8217;ll be amazed at the transformations. But one thing that the audience should not gloss over is the end goal. As in, there is no end goal:<strong> </strong></p>

<p>[<em>Congrats to Jerry Hayes for winning the at home portion of Biggest Loser. At 64, he was the show’s oldest contestant ever. He was eliminated early in the competition but continued to lose weight after the show going from 369 to 192 pounds, a loss of 177 pounds, or 47.97 percent weight loss. Look at the intensity in Jerry's face!</em>]</p>
<p>If you want to burn off fat and keep it off permanently, there are a few things you absolutely must do (ie. <a title="Build Muscle Lose Weight - Interview with Vince DelMonte" href="http://www.thefatlossauthority.com/fat_loss_tips/the-one-thing-you-must-have-to-lose-fat-questions-and-answers-with-vince-delmonte/" target="_self">build muscle</a>), and a recent study from Wake Forest University has just uncovered another one.<br />

Previous research has concluded without a shred of doubt that high levels of exercise are one of the keys to keeping fat off and maintaining your ideal weight. In this study published in the October 2008 issue of Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, researchers found for the first time, proof that the drop in physical activity that happens automatically during calorie restriction is directly correlated to weight regain.</p>
<p>Your physical activity energy expenditure (PAEE) also tends to drop when you restrict calories.</p>
<p>Basically, when you cut calories, you get sluggish, you move your body less, you don’t feel like exercising and if you do exercise, you do it with with less intensity.</p>
<p>This means that unless you intentionally counter this tendency by pushing yourself to keep active and keep up the intensity, despite your low calorie intake, your weight loss will slow down automatically as you continue with caloric restriction. Not good!</p>
<p>The new twist to this story is that in this latest study the researchers followed up on the subjects through the maintenance period &#8211; with 6 month and 12 month checkups.</p>
<p>This is significant, because most fat loss success stories are reported immediately after the weight loss phase, but you never know what happened to them afterwards.</p>
<p>Well guess what? It wasn’t much of a maintenance period. Almost everyone regained most of the weight.</p>
<p>The surprise was WHY they regained back the weight and WHO regained the most…</p>
<p>The drop in physical activity during the diet was directly related to the weight regain after the diet!</p>
<p>The researchers wrote,<em>“The greater the decrease in physical activity energy expenditure (PAEE) during the energy deficit, the greater the weight gain during the follow up.”</em></p>
<p>“That won’t happen to me,” you say? Think again. That drop in activity usually happens unconsciously. It’s part of the “starvation response” (or “weight-regulating mechanism” if you prefer). Your body tricks you in countless ways, in order to restore energy balance and stabilize your weight.</p>
<p>If you believe that diet alone is the answer or that you can dial down your training, then enjoy the short-term results count the days backwards towards your old fat self!</p>
<p>Our readers know that we promote the two headed attack of diet and exercise for healthy fat loss. Specifically higher levels of exercise (ie. strength, interval and cardio training) with a higher intake of clean food. If you want long lasting fat loss, it is imperative not only to keep up a high level of energy expenditure (BURN calories not just cut them), but also to make a conscious effort to make sure your activity level does not drop as you continue to lose weight.</p>
