Mike Geary's book "The Truth About Six Pack Abs" is currently the top selling abs program on the entire internet. Yes, that includes places like Sri Lanka and high tech barns in rural India.

Fortunately though, for all of you looking to rid yourself of that beer and/or strawberry margarita belly, this program is no hoax.

With very minor drawbacks, the course provides you with all of the knowledge you need to successful rid yourself of your McBelly.

The author, Mike Geary, is a certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist. In my opinion, these credentials don't mean a whole lot. If I were to base my program selections on credentials I would have moved on already. It's the information within the product that counts, and this is where Geary shines.

He's done his homework!

The Truth About Six Pack Abs is a 140 page fitness program focusing on the problem most people face when they think about getting a six pack, losing the ugly belly fat on top of your abs.

So essentially, if your goal is to get yourself a six pack, fat loss should be your #1 focus, followed with building muscle. Don't worry ladies, this program will NOT make you bulk up, men and women gain muscle differently.

This program can be used by men or women and though a lot of the exercise pictures in the book are of Mike doing heavy lifting (I think he's just trying to look tough), the exact same exercises can be done with 1/10th of the weight for a 100lbs female if necessary with exactly the same results.

A good exercise is a good exercise is a good exercise-- Plain and simple!

What I like about Mike Geary and this program is the 3 years he took to test and tweak this program from when it originally came out to what it is now. A lot of internet fitness gurus come out with products so fast that its always a shoot first and ask questions later mentality.

But with Truth About Abs, its been out for three years already, so that means feedback from thousands of clients telling Geary how to make his product better which in turns means a better program from those of you buying now.

This is good!

Take a look at all of Geary's testimonials on his site.

Geary devotes a large part of his book to nutrition guidelines, eating habits and need-to-know information regarding your body and why the majority of people trying to lose weight fail miserably.

This section should not be taken lightly!

The reason why so many people are so unsuccessful with their diets is a severe lack of information concerning nutrition and the proper guidelines to set them straight.

The Truth About Abs covers the essentials of nutrition and the dangers of dieting with the following chapters to name a few:

  • 4.2 Why Not to Follow Fad Diets
  • 4.3 Eating the Right Fats Can Actually Make You Leaner
  • 4.4 Balanced Healthy Eating
  • 4.5 Importance of Infrequent Overfeeding
  • 4.6 Meal Frequency and the Thermic Effect of Food
  • 4.7 Two Hidden Evils in our Food Supply
  • 4.8 The Importance of Dietary Calcium and Dairy for Staying Lean
  • 4.9 The Secret Fat Loss Benefits of Teas

After the nutrition information you'll learn all about the abdominals. Geary explains clearly and simply how the abdominals work and function which will later help you to understand completely why he recommends the exercises and routines that he does.

Most "wannabes" looking to get a six-pack spend hours and hours a day with crunches and sit-ups, and what these people normally end up with are little to no results and a bad back for their troubles.

In The Truth About Abs program, Geary focuses on compound exercises using your entire body!

Compound what? These are exercises that work multiple muscle groups at the same time which help you burn more fat, add some muscle, and strip away all of the belly fat that you've been dying to get rid of.

I added three exercises from Geary's program to my fitness routine before even purchasing the book.

I read an article that Mike wrote and thought the exercises looked cool so I gave them a shot. They were the Renegade Dumbbell Row, Front Squats with a barbell, and Mountain Climbers.

Check out Geary's article with the exercises and photo descriptions HERE

The exercises Geary includes in his book that specifically target your core and abs are fantastic as well. The one and two arm snatches are especially awesome. They're tough, sure, but most things worth doing aren't easy!

The entire program can be done either in a regular gym or at your home, and this book gives you the proper steps to take no matter which venue you choose as your workout ‘home'.

Also included in the book

  • 50 exercises with clear photo demonstrations
  • 84 meal plans
  • Metabolism Secrets
  • Secret Weapon Exercises

Verdict

If you do what The Truth About Six Pack Abs tells you, it will work!

The only drawbacks I noticed were a lack of tracking sheets and a very limited section towards motivation and goal setting.

The tracking sheet aspect is very minor, you can buy a $5 notebook and pen at Wal-Mart and there you go. Start keeping notes of the exercises you've been doing, the number of reps, and the weight you used. A notepad is all I use and its all I will likely ever use. (unless of course I am one day rich enough to pay someone to follow me around and record my workout for me.)

The last section of the book titled, "Final Thoughts" mentions goal setting and being specific with your goals.

It's a very good point, but its only a paragraph long? I don't think that's good enough!

Having a six pack is a huge goal, and I applaud anyone with the ambition to go for it, therefore solely having one paragraph focused on goal setting and motivation isn't sufficient. Something like this is really big for me and I hope one day Geary elaborates more on this important concept.

He's a great writer and a great guy from my communication with him. I'm sure if he wanted to he could write a killer motivational add-on to his program.

But until that time, check out our WHY? section on the site. You need to figure this out before you take the steps necessary for a different lifestyle.

With that being said, I do think The Truth About Six Pack Abs is a quality program, and for under $40 it's a no brainer if you're looking to get into some seriously good shape.

The program gives you the tools, but you have to decide to use them or not.

If you are looking for a more involved program, the other belly stripping program we recommend is a little more expensive but it comes with upwards of 15 hours of DVD video!!! (seriously!).
